Do you remember the old adage about if you want something done, give it to the busiest person in the room? One of the biggest obstacles Realtors constantly face is the communicating with customers and clients while they are out showing all day long or involved in something that has them totally absorbed for hours during the day. Let’s face it, technology has gotten everyone spoiled to the point that everyone thinks you can solve their problems “right now!”

Here’s a simple solution to create some sanity with your schedule. First, if you don’t have some type of voicemail, get it. Here’s why. Although people used to complain, nowadays everybody likes being able to leave a detailed message for you. But only if they know you’ll get it and do something with it!!

Secondly, once you’ve gotten a voicemail, the real benefit is to change your greeting on a daily basis with a message that sounds something like this: “Good morning, this is Jane Smith and it is Tuesday, October 23rd. I’ll be on appointments from 10:00 to 3:00 today and returning calls from 9 till 10 and again from 4:30 to 5:30 this afternoon. If you will leave me a detailed message, I’ll be right back to you as quickly as I can. Thanks for calling, have a great Tuesday!”

What this does is let’s them know enough about your schedule that they certainly won’t be expecting a call while you’re on your appointments. Let’s face it; they do know you have to work at some point during the day! This type of message also tells them you’re a true professional because it’s updated daily. That gives them the impression you’ll get to it, at least sometime during the day!

Check in with the top Mega Agents around the country and they’ll tell you straight up, their clients are willing to wait on them provided they understand they’ll get a call as soon as you are able. Leaving a daily message is the right way to achieve that!
